Pulau Redang Island

All around the world, Malaisie

To this island I encountered Paradise. We took the ferry from Kuala Terrenganu to the island. The downside about the ferry was that it only had three departure times, and due to bad planning, we had to wait three hours in KT which was a bit disappointing because that meant less time on the island. There is not much to do in KT, so the time waiting we spent eating. The people there however are really nice and hospitable, and helped us out and served us tasty local food.

When we finally arrived the island we were met by a very friendly and joyful staff that showed us the resort and the room we were staying in before going out to the big, turquoise ocean. The temperature and the atmosphere were perfect, and when the sun shone on the water it was see-through and clear, so beautiful.Processed with VSCO with a5 preset Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

The food on the island (and Malaysia in general) was really cheap, and even though we only had 300 RM for all the expenses of four people, we could have eaten two dinners!

We didn´t get the time snorkeling with an organized excursion group, but we found an area where we could snorkel on our own. The underwater world was an amazing, and I have never been in such awe for underwater creatures before. Swimming among fishes and mini sharks were extraordinary.

This island made me really happy and inspired again. Sitting under the clear sky watching the blinking stars and not sleeping just to see the sunrise made me really appreciate our planet and all its wonders. _MG_2304Processed with VSCO with a4 preset

It was a lot of fun on the island, and I wish we could have stayed for a few more days to really explore everything that was on it. I really wanted to go hiking on the mountains and diving, but unfortunately we didn’t get enough time. This means that I am kind of obliged to return to this island to discover the undiscovered!
